You should ABSOLUTELY be very cautious in intervening into a violent situation, as it can escalate to a point you're ill equipped to handle if you're not prepared, but lets not act like being a good samaritan is a BAD thing in of itself that should be advised against or try to vindicate domestic abusers as anything less than the cowardly, immoral, criminals that they are.

And lets be fair and show the situations where the good samaritans who've intervened in domestic violence situations WERE prepared, wound up on top, and helped make the community a little safer, and not just cherry pick situations from other countries just to fear monger. Especially considering we live in the US where we have the second amendment and favorable good samaritan laws unlike in Mexico where that incident took place.

Being a good samartian in a DV situation is RISKY(especially if you're unprepared), but not a BAD thing, plus we all take all kinds of risk throughout our lives everyday. It's a virtue. And it's a personal choice at the end of the day.

When he was a marine in japan (19 20s) he witnessed a dude beating his woman. My,pops intervened but the woman started fighting him.
