One of my uncles used to sell baseball memorabilia when he lived in Florida. And traveling to stadiums and events, he's met several Hall of Famers in lots of different sports.
He always said that 2 people stood out to him: Ernie Banks and Bill Russell. He said that Russell was by far the nicest athlete he ever met. He was a bit disappointed that Russell wouldn't sign anything for him. Apparently he doesn't like to do that. He gave my uncle a hug instead.



Anyway my uncle said it was his favorite experience with an athlete.
