It's not that I disagree with his message it's just seems like the people who could invest in their communities already know this and refuse to do so because of other reasons :mjpls:

Slim Thug recently took to Instagram to tell his community to buy back the block.

"When you go to white communities, who own the houses around that motherf***er? The white people. When you go to Asian communities, who own the houses [and the businesses]? The Asian people...when you go to a black community, nope," Thug said. "Y'all need to step that up," he continued, "Instead of buying chains and spending money on cars and seeing who could spend the most on clothes...open up a store, buy some property, do some s**t that's gonna make money."

Watch above.

I wonder what he thinks about hip-hop itself tho.

What's funny is that Hip-hop (which is the single most influential artform in the universe) glorifies the exact OPPOSITE mindset of what he's talking about. :dead:

Hip-hop stays promoting and glorifying materialism , being reckless with your $$$, buying "foreign" goods and putting your $$$ into the hands of nonblacks.

Hip-hop is the #1 tool that could make what he's talking about seem "cool" to the black masses. But of course the REAL controllers of hiphop would never let this type of message spread via hip-hop.

Instead, we're gonna constantly get songs like

Y'all keep thinking this hip-hop shyt is "just entertainment" and doesn't have the power to dictate behaviour, habits and mindsets:sas2:

This is truth!

Hip hop has the power to shape tastes and values.

Fair enough, my first point still stands.

Was he thinking this when he was spending black middle class family's annual earnings on some damn teeth??

I just see this as hypocritical that's all.

Edit: My bad fam I'm sure this dude is doing a lot for the community, but I don't think he can't be an advocate for this message, whereas he has made a career of doing the exact opposite of the message he's trying to portray.

He has a point... :francis: If I had tons of money I'd buy cheap real estate too...

Open a wingstop franchise or two or start my own resturant but I'm sure that the capital to do those things must me in the high 5-6 figures...
