keep making excuses playing the deflect game.....it aint never gonna change nothing....be under the foot of cacs for the rest of ur life if u want....
I think you are the one who is playing the "deflect game" and who is under the "foot of cacs"...
Hip Hop is NOT any more "negative" than any other genre...The overall message in Hip Hop is positive and empowering...I am a huge fan of Heavy Metal and it is relatively more "negative" than Hip Hop is you ask me...
What are the main themes in hip hop...?
(1) Being proud of where you are from....During the Soccer World Cup, you should see one many different flags were flying around in Canada...Now you want to tell me because some kid from Chicago is proud of his neighbourhood, I should feel threatened and appalled by that...?
(2) Financial empowerment and independence...This is what most people work for in life...People want to have money so they can afford whatever pleasure floats their boat....This Segways into the other big theme of...
(3) "Just having fun out there"....Human males have been enjoying drinking wine (and other intoxicating substances) and frolicking with whores since the beginning of written history...The Bible has rules about how to behave with and treat whores...That's how long humans have been chasing whores...
Now just because a Chicago kid calls a whore a Thot, it some how suppose to negate years of human social history....?
(4) When you start making money and becoming successful, you also make a few enemies, and destroying enemies is something that humans have been doing and praying for since recorded history...
The Bible has chapters about people praying to God, and asking God to destroy their enemies....Bush Jr invaded Iraq because Saddam made an attempt at his father...Afghanistan was invaded because Bin Laden ALLEGEDLY took down the Towers and was hiding in Afghanistan...
Just because a Chiraq kid raps about taking down an OPP, we are somehow suppose to be offended and ignore millenniums of human social history...?
Hip Hop just talks about what many of us do on a daily basis...The only difference is the context of Hip Hop is mainly the ghetto...However, the predominant themes in hip hop are UNIVERSAL....
We all want to be (1) proud of our heritage (2) make lots of money (3) have fun out there and (4) see people who oppose us "destroyed"...
What is so negative about that...?
