So I recently got into sports betting because of a stupid younger cousin of mine who introduced me to it, and today I can say it has completely crushed me.

I dropped $750 on Miami Heat beating Cavs :( I know, but the odds were crazy and would've raked in over 6k.
I also dropped 1k on Memphis to beat OKC. Again I was lured by the hefty payout.

So to make the money back I immediately dropped 1.5k in the 4th Quarter for Dallas to beat Utah by +7, that didn't happen as Utah almost won :(

Now I am seething, I literally emptied my bank account to win all that back. I dropped 1.6k on Houston to beat Clippers. They lost :sadbron:

Now I'm broke as shyt with $90 in my bank account. I just transferred $50 to my sportsbook account to start all over :(

I have no idea what got me to this. I've never been a gambler in my life. But I made some money early and thought I could keep winning.........

I have 1.8k coming in next week, this time I'll stick with the favourites. I'm getting that money back!! And then quitting for good.

Moral of the story is folks, don't gamble. You may win some, but in the long you you'll ALWAYS lose.

You went full tilt breh. Happened to me when I lost 1k week 2 in NFL. Saints losing to Browns, and Niners collapsing vs Bears.

Sooo much pain I felt

TS went full retard like my friend the first time he went to Vegas. Never gambled in his life and he was waiting to meet up with us at a Hotel. Walked by a roulette table and decided to drop 500 bucks on black. Won that, then he drops another 500 and won. Was up like 2000 bucks. Kept playing and lost his original 500. Pulled out another 500 lost that. Ended up losing 2500 and he had to sleep on our room floor cause he had no money left for the trip. :russ:

I had a stretch about a month ago... I put $400 into my sportsbook and put it all on Luck winning his first game.. I won... got my shyt up to like $900

Then I made a couple of other bets and won some... lost some... eventually I was at $1100...

Then I saw "the line" for NCAA Basketball LSU @ Mizzou with LSU -2 for the game....

I am a mizzou season ticket holder and have went to 90% of their games this year and they are hot garbage... dead last in the SEC.. they just fukking suck... so I placed the whole $1100 on it which would've brought back $2200 and Mizzou hits fire at the end of the game to force OT and then wins in OT... made me sick to my stomach!

But I don't put any money into my sportsbook that I don't intend to lose... bet with your head... not over it. Pay your bills and shyt first and foremost... save some money aside each month if you have to for your sportsbook and then make a deposit after like 3 months or so..

This thread is depressing as shyt. :mjcry:

Gambling and casinos scare the living shyt outta me...no lie. I've never really tried, and have zero interest.

It shouldn't all you have to do is have some damn sense and self control. I started gambling NFL/NCAA season 2013. Started with 200 and won like 200 on the first night. Built it up to like 600 it fell a little, then I pulled out at 500. Once I pulled out I had like 10 dollars left by January I turned that into over 1000 on some real lucky shyt. I pulled that out and haven't gambled since.

I only played like 3-7 team parlays for like 2-5 dollars. If the shyt is based on luck well damnit, you best believe Im going to try and get lucky using as little money as possible to win as much money as possible. You don't know how many close 4 and 5 team parlays I done misses]d out on. We're talking 1000s+ I've missed out on on some fluke shyt [2013 WSU vs CSU bowl game I had like a 6 team parlay 10 dollars to win like 400 all WSU had to do was kneel the fukking ball, they're up like 9 with less than 2 min left and they LOSE the game. I swear that shyt was fukking rigged. fukk You Mike Leach :pacspit:]. I can take that because in the end I still came up BIG compared to what I was betting. Putting down 1000 on one play when you're not a millionaire is asinine, unless you're that good and can do the shyt for a living.

That shyt makes games 100x more exciting. But you have to be on point emotionally and mentally. If you're the type that let's shyt get to you and bother you easily don't do it. That shyt will eat at you. Im emotionally numb to most things so I can let shyt go easily. I have friends to this day that ask me why I stopped even though I went up big [relatively] and I just hit them with the . I'll probably get back at it this college football season, or maybe not.

The fukk you keeping a scorecard or something?

I don't gamble, to me it's a sad state of affairs.

I get my money the legitimate way, through hard work, not some junky chasing a high risking money on something they have no control over.
Just because you gamble, does not in anyways make you a degenerate, nor does it make you a junkie in anyway. Are you only against sports betting? When betting sports, you just have to be smart with your picks(as you shouldnt have touched that fukking heat game.....even tho it was a big payout) and dont double down tryna get back to even. If you play poker, Black Jack, etc you have 100% control of EVERYTHING if you know what you are doing. A good friend of mine makes a major portion of his income with gambling, as well as holding down a full time job :manny:

Why in the fukk would bet on a Wade-less Heat vs. a red hot revenge seeking fully healthy Cavalier team at home?!?!?

You deserve this.

no sense at all

I thought Hassan Whiteside would dominate the boards and cause an upset :( Plus Love was out. I knew it was a long shot and was full prepared to lose that money (it was from winnings anyway). Odds were too good..

Please, fam, never adopt the mentality that "I can make it all back" if the method of making it back is by more gambling. There's a reason it's called gambling and not certainty.

I seen this shyt wreck many lives.

thanks for the concern bro, but i understand completely i can go even further under. However I'm adamant that i at least attempt to make some of it back, i will go slowly. however and further significant loses and i will call it a wrap.
