I'll let a few eps drop before checking, but they need to pour all their resources into SNW. The show got all the talent and they need to expand the season by double.

welp, guess i'm going to skip this based on the consensus review all across the internet. :francis:
Make your own mind up. Living by what the internet says is why the world is so fukked.

Watched some cac lambast the first episode on Youtube and saw they got a fat black woman (naturally) to play a fukking Klingon/Jem Hadar hybrid, which makes ZERO sense since the fukking Jem Hadar were created without reproductive capabilities. :snoop:

I don't give a flying fukk how they wrote around that, for all practical purposes, they should've died out after the end of the Dominion War. :camby:

A WARRIOR race spliced with a race literally built for WAR, and this bytch is a whale.:russ:

Get the entire fukk out of here. And they wonder why nobody likes Nu-Trek.
800 years have passed. The Founders created the Jem'Hadar for their own means, means which became irrelevant in the late 2380's never mind 3100's or whatever. Plus there was the Alpha Quadrant Jem'Hadar race, cut off from the Ketracel White, so many easy stories to explain it. Plus she's a great character.

Just seeing the trailer made me very :patrice: because it looks over budget and a complete trainwreck like discovery.

I don’t get how the franchise didn’t do a show 10-30 years after Voyager and keep it moving. This 700 years in the future plot was ridiculous and for the $ they spend each episode a resourceful writer and director could’ve shīt put an actual movie with substance

It’s like they know they can’t live up to the TNG era stuff and are cranking out shows that just don’t connect.

The over-reliance on Spock in SNW and Discovery meant that it’s hard to develop a new cast that connects and it’s ironic that the damn cartoon turned out to be a winner because it is still in the TNG era that people are very fond of
Fully agree that they really need to abandon the DSC era but so far this show uses it just as an excuse to exist. It didn't need it. Starfellet Academy has been in development hell since the 1970's.

It's too late for that. SNW has wrapped!

In short, I am surprisingly defending this show due to my hating DSC and the era it jumped to, the Burn is the single most worst piece of shyt in Trek history but this show's promotion has been and inexplicably continues to be fukking horrendous and not indicitave of what the show actually is. Yes it doesn't need to be all "dude, bro" etc but it really does have Trek at it's heart. Something they said it would but NEVER showed in it's promotion. Heavy Prodigy vibes.

GIVE IT A CHANCE. And that's coming from someone who wrote this off when it was announced. Plus episode 5 is apparently a huge one for long term fans having
A big DS9 connection
.

Have to remember that we have 16 episodes of SNW to come, 17 more SFA then we have NOTHING.

The year 3030
finally getting around to this

I'm guessing since this is so far in the future / Post STD Burn, Doc and SAM have access to holoemiters everywhere, or their badges are emitters. SAM's arc could be interesting, especially since we in this AI companionship/personality era in real life.

They called it too “woke”?
no its just the laziest, most watered down to way to describe how they've reduced star trek to shyt that wouldn't even get a pass on sabrina the teenage witch

there's grift commentary, sure, but the rest of star trek fans - and this new audience they're pretending exists - isn't sticking around for a girl eating her comm badge and an academy chancellor showing off her feet at or sitting like a toddler

everyone thought they'd get the hint after discovery became a joke and the section 31 train wreck. nah. kurtsman isn't done ruining star trek

Well I gave Discovery a season before I naturally bushed it… didn’t even bother with Section 31.

I did like Strange New World as well as Prodigy. Lower Decks was ok.

Funny.. Star Trek was one reason I chose Navy. Ships, Fleet, etc.

You know what's shyt about the "its for a new generation/younger audience?" it acts like kids at any point in history do not like seeing professionals, experts, and generally the best around do cool shyt and solve complex problems... and now, if someone in that age bracket wants something braindead and engaging they were never gonna sit down to watch paul giamatti ham it up.

growing up a lot folks would watch TNG or DS9 after school or on weekends - and had no problem being immersed despite not knowing how fast torpedos moved in space

its just really, really disappointing that not fukking with this gets people blanket labeled as whatever is anti-_____ all because they remember sentient hologram storylines in the past that weren't a running lilo & stitch gag. its not about woke or women. janeway and sisko would throw up or demand a suicide mission being around these characters. people are tired of the star trek ip getting dogged out
