I don't think Shumpert is being developed properly at all. Dolan hates him, Melo wasn't a fan of drafting him, yet he's the only one who seems to care about defense.
The team is run by the CAA, Melo, JR/Chris Smith's agency. With JR's FA status last year, his brother was a package deal, and as we saw this year, he made the team despite having a rep as the worst player in the D-League. Woodson fired his longtime agent because Dolan didn't like the guy's affiliation to Larry Brown. Shumpert's agent Happy Walters also reps Amare, who isn't exactly redeeming his contract.
They know about JR's knee injury and pay him and still draft THJR. Woodson's been treating Shumpert like he's still a rookie. How is he supposed to develop? On top of that, he plays the 3 on offense which in our offense means stand around and watch Melo and spot up around him. When Ty comes back, i think Shumps going to the bench if we run a big lineup.
Like how is this kid supposed to develop when his owner hates him and his coach undermines him? On top of that he only gets like 8 shots a game.
What is this infatuation with Shumpert?????? Faried plays defense and he REBOUNDS. He shoots over 50% he doesn't need many touches to be effective and he's the same age as Shumpert. Shumpert on the other hand is a career 39% shooter.
