Only in this thread could there Marbury supporters , the guy was the worse thing to happen to the team and wow just wow stans for a bum. Next thing you know guys will want him and Isaiah back .

Marbury's first year we got to the playoffs for the first time in years. But people always leave that out. Granted we got swept by he Kidd led Nets, but let's give credit where credit is due. And let's not forget Dantoni inexcusably refusing to play him, even though dude came into camp in the best shape of his career.

You want to go from Melo to Love? He'll get the same type of censure that Melo gets.

I just love those rebounding numbers breh... I mean...

People underestimate how clutch a key rebound could be when it matters...

Knicks without Melo...:patrice:

Love should average like 63 rebounds a night. :russ:

We have no shooters breh. :comeon:

@Cory MBA THJR?:manny: \

:whoa: And I do want to keep Melo.
Keep Melo...but groom Tim Hardaway Jr. Let's see if THJR hits that rookie wall and bounces back. He is not ready to carry a franchise. He needs to pay dues. Until then, he should keep playing with heart. It takes time to get anointed. He is not close to being ready for us to rely on.

the team was trash
Marbury did what he could
then his father and mentor died and he lost it
da garden was a mess
if knicks hired mark Jackson instead of dantoni, things woulda turned out different
dat team was solid before the trades
Well which was it ? The team trash or solid like you posted ? Marbury was poison on the team. My god it is hard to be fan of this team when you have fans making stuff up . How about the coaches before Mike D? Marbury killed them and his teammates with his attitude, now it's everyone's fault but his right?

The team is awful...you play the young dudes. We already know what JR Smith is.

Sources: James Dolan talked to team
Knicks chairman James Dolan told New York players in a meeting Thursday that there are no trades or changes to the coaching staff forthcoming, ESPN.com has learned.

Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that Dolan gathered the team before the first practice in the wake of New York's embarrassing 29-point home loss to Oklahoma City on Christmas Day largely in an attempt to hush the growing speculation about coach Mike Woodson's job security following the Knicks' 9-19 start.

The discussion came amid increasing signs the Knicks' effort and focus under Woodson is waning on top of the significant injury issues that have plagued them all season.

It's believed Dolan took the step in an attempt to persuade Woodson's players to band together and throw their full support behind the embattled coach to help dig New York out of the sizable hole it finds itself with essentially one-third of the regular season in the books, the sources said.

When an emboldened Woodson met reporters after Thursday's practice, he promptly announced he still thinks New York can rally from its poor start to win the Atlantic Division.

"We won it last year, and I expect us to win it this year," he said.

Anything seems possible in the Atlantic Division, which is currently topped by the 11-15Toronto Raptors. The Knicks are just three games back of Toronto and play the Raptors in a weekend back-to-back starting Friday night at home.

"The beauty about all of this that we're going through is nobody's running away with it in our division," Woodson said, "and I'm pushing our team to win our division still."

"Eventually we'll get healthy, and we'll see how it all plays out," he added.

The Knicks did make a hard run at trading for Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry earlier this month, as ESPN.com reported, but ultimately balked at Toronto's asking price. New York has also talked trade with several teams about defensive specialist Iman Shumpert.

It's widely believed in coaching circles that the lack of an obvious option to take over as interim coach is key among the factors that has kept Woodson safe this long. If Woodson were to be dismissed in-season, New York would likely have to call upon on assistant general manager Allan Houston, who has no coaching experience, or veteran assistant Herb Williams to take over.

After defensive anchor Tyson Chandler suffered a leg fracture five games into the season, Dolan wanted to give Woodson time to coach with a healthy Chandler restored to the lineup before making any firm judgments. But guard Raymond Felton suffered a long-term groin injury earlier this week after Chandler's return, while an ankle injury forced star forward Carmelo Anthony to sit out the Christmas day loss to the Thunder.

"I have a lot of confidence in Woodson," Dolan told the New York Post in a rare interview in mid-November, "and one thing I can say about Mike is he has the respect of all the players. They all respect him. ... When a coach loses a team … that's when a coach is kind of done."

Im talking about the team we had when we fired isiah and hired dantoni

Marbury was far from a saint, but those other teams were trash and there were so much more going on behind the scenes that basketball just became a afterthought. remember when larry brown pushed isiah to trade for steve francis:deadmanny:

I mean it was just a f-ked up situation
