You legitimately believe that the "extra training" Trump wants is (1) understand why minorities are suspicious of police, (2) Stop harshly enforcing minor drug offenses, (3) better understand when and how to use deadly force?
Even after he ran as a tough-on-crime candidate who said we aren't "being fair" to the police? Even after he applauded New York's unconstitutional stop-and-frisk policy? Even after he appointed Rudy Giulani---aka, Mr. "Broken Windows Policing"---to head his transition team? Even though most of his voters believe that BLM is a hoax and black people are afraid of cops because of liberal media?
This "extra training" he wants is not meant to do what you think it's going to do. And I think you know that very well. But you're playing devil's advocate on purpose.

I see a lot of pessimism in this thread, but very little counter-action, alternative solutions or mathematic/scientific disqualification for anything in that plan. Personally, I find Trump nausea-inducing and elitist, however he's about to be our President, so its really up to us to hold him accountable...you know, like how white people do when they get mad. I've never seen more documented inventory of every misstep a political figure has made in their tenure than when Obama was elected into office. That shyt was spiteful and petty as hell, but at least white folks were keeping track
We are notoriously bad at that type of thing, I think it's a spirituality complex, who knows. Either way, instead of saying "yeah right", or "I'll believe it when I see it" or whatever other contrarian, low-energy catchphrase you can think of in response, HOLD THIS MAN ACCOUNTABLE, each step of the way. If there's something in that plan you're particularly passionate about (passionately agree OR passionately disagree) find a way to get involved on the ground floor within your community. Whatever you do, don't:
-spend so much time in your emotional bubble about the possibility of an impending war that you don't realize there's government contract work you could be eligible for
-complain about the possible recession and fail to invest in all the tanking stocks that will shoot back up 5-10 years later
-waste the next 4 years feeling powerless when you could be prepping for the next election cycle through community outreach, getting involved in local politics, or otherwise. If you're still lacking in solutions or enthusiasm in 4 years fukk YOU!
