I haven't watched this in probably 20 years lol. I don't wanna ruin my childhood
I think you’d be surprised homie. Give it a shot. I don’t find it hard to sit through at all. Now turtles 2? Yeah no thanks. But the first one is legit.

The costumes, the puppetry, the setting, the fights, the voice work, and there are genuine character moments in all throughout.

It’s a hell yes from me but again, it’s on my shelf and I watch it at least once a year

Also just for sheer impact, it should merit discussion. At the time it was the highest grossing independent movie ever, it got jim Henson’s puppet shop to think outside of the box and push them, it really did usher in “ninja” movies of that era (for better or worse), and it’s still one of the most successful comic book adapatations when people were still trying to figure out how to do that.

It's a yes from me.

The first took it serious enough that it aged well.

The 2nd is awful. And the 3rd is even worse :hhh:

Yup. 2 years ago I was at a conference and zoning out so I ordered part 2 on amazon for $6. Then had enough time to sit and think about it and realized there's no way in hell I'm going to watch that and it'll just take up space on my shelf, even if it's just $6. Initiated the return, Amazon refunded me the money and told me I could keep the movie:russ:

Even Amazon was like :whoa: keep that shyt homie.

What makes this movie age well while the other two are like stale old people in retirement homes, is it took itself seriously enough and focused on character first. Plus the practical effects. Real stunts and real effects will hardly ever go out of style, and Jim Henson gave them a huge boost. If just for his work alone, this belongs in the hall of fame:smugbiden:

I'll continue to buy and watch every single copy of this Movie that I get, I loved 2 just as much.

I was always told never to watched TMNT 3 and Batman & Robin, I only recently watched Batman & Robin maybe 2 Years ago for the 1st Time and I seriously regret it. I love my Ninjas too much to ruin them in the same way.
