The basis of mickey argument is what mook has done on smack and not making a fair assessment of mook performances in his last couple of battles. He was totally rewriting what being a goat or number 1 is. Meanwhile he selling guys who done did classic shyt real short.

What is required to be great in this era is different than what you had to do back in the smack era. All you had to do was memorize mixtape verses and many times just rap longer than your opponent. Today is a different ball game, needing bars, angles, humor, schemes, wit, being able to perform in front of a large crowd, being penalized for using mixtape verses, standing in front of a dude who has battled 40x and trying to find a new way to attack him and say something that has not been said about your opponent 100 times while making it clever and something that can land in the room. Being in front of 1000, 1500, 2000 people vs 30 people in a store.

It's the equivalent of trying to say Dr j is the best dunker ever simply because he was the 1st to jump from the free throw line, but in doing that you totally ignoring mj jumped from the line better and now you got guys who jump higher and were more crafty and more athletic. Mickey not being realistic. You the goat, you don't look that bad at sm2. You the goat you don't say hippo critical bars and look that bad in front of lux. Mickey sounded like a damn groupie.

Personally I think you're downplaying how difficult it was to go corner to corner and get busy. That argument will never end, honestly.
Mook zipped two legends in his last two fights, in front of big crowds. But when you talk about that, it becomes "well he didn't look good winning". So is it about winning? Or would you rather he be like Surf and have a bunch of debatables with more replay value? lol.
Stop it with these silly sports analogies. The only sensible one I've heard was the Mook/Tim Duncan comparison.

He's waiting for a bigger payday. Part of being successful is patience & sacrifice.

Guess ur right but still. He got iirc 20k for Iron battle. I remember back then everyone was outraged he demanded and got that kinda money. Its a big jump from 20 to 70k and still refuse

Mook does in fact hide behind the guise of paydays to avoid battling nikkaz. Mook knows in his heart that he ain't built to battle 5 killaz in a year today. I guess in a way it's smart, but nikkaz really know the real deal on Mook.

Mook is not battling Arsonal or Math regardless of how much money is involved....those two will go in on him differently (12 staples, Ray Swag)

Part of me feels that was the best opportunity for him to get a huge check. You had UW, Total Slaughter, Filmon, & Gladiator school that don't know any better. Those companies are gone.

I dont think its that.....Mook is just money hungry, he lived the era of battling on sight, no time limit doin 5 or 6 rounds a battle.

I hate to sound like Surf with a Nba analogy but its true lol...the old era was rougher then today now you got time to sit, think, write, rewrite, switch rounds around..so it should be nothin for Mook to do but...

Mook just a whore for money at this point, and beat the god of this shyt Lux ( still is imo) which send his ego to the sun...smh

is Total Slaughter cancelled at this point?

edit
Total Slaughter was billed as the “biggest event in battle rap history,” and despite some criticism, many observers expected the function would be held annually. However, there has not been any sign TS2 is going to take place anytime soon.

AllHipHop.com spoke with Slaughterhouse’s Joell Ortiz about the possibility Em and the team could sponsor another battle rap extravaganza. The “House Slippers” rhymer does not dismiss Total Slaughter could happen again.

“I wouldn’t rule it out, because it went over so well. The timing has to be right. Everything has to align,” says Joell. “If there is another Total Slaughter and there’s a representative of Slaughterhouse, it very well could be me.”

Be real breh, Mook went around for years recycling old verses over and over again. If some investor offered Mook 50 bands to battle Clips, Verb, Hollow, Ars and Surf/Math in a 12 month period. I'm willing to bet that Mook would decline. Mook understands that he's more marketable and can ask for more bread if he appears to be "undefeated" and if he battles less.

Until I see Mook running thru top tiers and goin out of town in hostile environments, then I can hold him up as the goat, but I look at Mooks resume a lil sideways.

Niccas still on this discrediting Mook wave.... SMH.

The only reason battlers are getting paid what they are today is because of Mook. He's the one who forced Smack's hand and disclosed he got five figures in a verse.

a few years ago nikkas were saying this HURT battle rap too tho breh :aicmon: iirc everyone here basically agreed that mook doing that caused alot of these nikkas to get hollywood and start ducking/fukking up battles due to how much they(or their opponents) were getting paid

shyt you could say that was almost the main reason the whole Bars over Names SM3 situation even started, money went to nikkas heads
