Maybe, just maybe, there's another motivation/reason outside of money that fuels the decision. Laziness will never explain losing six figures worth of dough, so maybe Smack and them dudes are flush with cash. Maybe there's something else to the streaming situation that we don't know that makes it not worth the effort.

I can surely see battlers catching a whiff of URL profits with PPV and upping their prices to something that changes the landscape of things to something URL doesn't want to traverse. It's easy to think it will all just scale linearly and simply, but when the money gets too big, shyt changes. Everyone in here knows that and maybe URL is avoiding said situation.

Then again, maybe not.:yeshrug:

I am actually rewatching that trailer just to catch some of that energy Chilla put on. Not only was he talking that shyt, but he seemed comfortable and genuine with that goon-ish body language. nikka had no doubt Prep wasn't gonna do shyt.

It doesn't matter if it gets bootlegged, there's no official DVD release or anything lol where else would Smack be making that money? Youtube? He makes nothing off that, look up what companies make off youtube. It's pennies. Smack is making the majority of his money off the live gate. PPV would be additional money coming in. He's lazy and he don't want it. I mean, to play devils advocate, it does add some value to being at the event I guess. If you're not gonna see the battles for fukkin months because it takes them so long to edit them, it makes the people want to be at the event. But for people everywhere else in the world who weren't gonna go anyway? Trust me, Smack's a dummy, he's losing money not doing PPV. It's not the other way around.
Biggest misconception in battle rap, hence why Smack continues to rape these nikkas.

Only reason they wouldn't do PPV again is because of laziness. And ya we all know that's totally uncharacteristic of Smack and URL...... LOL

:sas2:

Don't act like it's part of their plan or something. It's them being dumb.... again.
Ummm Beasley said for YEARS he didn't like the idea of the content being ripped instantly and not presented the way they want. And guess what happened?

:ohhh:

'm not sure how it happened, but DA YOUNG OG trolled his way into becoming by far the most anticipated battler in this shyt for me personally. This little gremlin nikka got classic unorthodox bars even during conversation. I've never hit rewind on a promo snippet so many times in my life.
:wow:
i wanna post on the block wit the Yung OG just to hear the quotables :wow:

Well apparently Danny Myers has divulged the REAL reason why he gave Rex 12k to battle. This is from his recent interview with PSA Radio
Click the link and skip to 17:42 :scust:

I'm hoping his phone dropped or something, or that was a real unfortunate glitch

Also Brizz called Danny and spit his Tay Roc bars for him....
hopefully that works out better for him than when he called Ice, but truthfully I'd take Ice's cosign over Danny's so it might be a long night for Brizz

You have no clue what you're talking about.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/02/business/chasing-their-star-on-youtube.html?pagewanted=all&_r=1

"On YouTube, the average rate for pre-roll ads, those 30-second commercials that you must watch before seeing a video, is $7.60 per 1,000 ad views, down from $9.35 in 2012, according to TubeMogul, a video ad-buying software company. The same pre-roll ad on a broadcaster’s site, like that of CBS or CNN, would cost more than $20 per 1,000 views."

The numbers he's getting now are probably even worse. But we'll go with 7.60 per 1000 views.

So lets take Clips/Hollow. Almost 600,000 views. That's $4,560. Sounds good, right? And THEN Youtube takes 45 percent. $2,508. That might sound good to somebody broke. But when you factor in that it's a business, what he's grossing off that is like nothing. Youtube views are nothing. Smack makes most his money off what he gets at the gate, which is why there's $100 tickets and $250 "VIP" tickets and shyt like that.

Off a video with 100,000 views, which is more near the average number for what his channel does... he's getting a little more than $400 bucks. Yeah he's really getting rich over here...

:stopitslime:

When you do all your stuff in house, like what KOTD does, that's when you're making the most money possible. Working with youtube, it's really youtube that's raping Smack. You got it backwards. It would make sense though, that these lazy bums would rather throw the footage on youtube than try to make some money off their own content by themselves.

Basing my opinion only on Chris 'sketch-a-stache' unbias, url spent 30 grand on the ppv and got a little extra back in profit. How much that 'little extra' is, who knows. May not be enough to do PPV again for smack.

He'd rather have chinamac selling cassettes for 6 bucks...
