I don't think they're even saying anything much different from each other, if anything they're both just telling shyt from their own perspectives in a way that makes themselves look the best. Math seems more believable in this shyt because Hollow keeps running with this "I'm loyal" shyt, when all he really has to say is "Situations change, I grew, I cut the relationship off with Math" or something like that.

All Hollow really has to do is keep saying "I gave you 3 years to handle it".

Anything other than that, and Math can use his powers of persuasion to make Hollow look shaky. Not sure what Hollow was supposed to do when he heard shots (if he wasn't strapped). But jumping in the Ocean just paints a hilarious picture.
