For such a data driven guy Arteta seems to have a blind spot with Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli

Viktor Gyokeres

  • Open-play xG: ~0.29 per

Leandro

Viktor Gyokeres

  • Open-play xG:
    • 1.91 per 90 (best combo with Ødegaard + Saka)
    • 1.17 per 90 (with Eze + Saka)
Nasty nasty stuff

curious what a 4-4-2 would play like with VG and Saka as 2nd striker
been saying for ages a second striker would unlock him but had eze in mind. 4-4-2 can become a 3-3-4 in attack with how skilled calafiori is
urgency was there but the execution/skill wasnt

and yea havertz always does well against chelsea. I wouldnt mind seeing him up fornt.

i dont even like the 4-2-3-1 appraoch. Gyokeres needs a second striker to be effective

Skelly did his thing today! I wish Arteta would’ve trusted more throughout the season. I really wonder how many more points we would’ve secured had he been integrated into the midfield earlier. 18 and bossing the midfield. I’m happy he proved all the shouts for him to start there from the fanbase right. I’m proud as a fellow West Indian and hype for whatever’s going to come next for him.

Great match and result. However, I'm still going to complain that it took you until match 35 to put MLS in the midfield. He added so much and was a key reason why we looked more fluid and able to look deadly in attack. Zubimendi is still a good player, but MLS just adds something different that we could've used earlier in the season to give Zubimendi and Rice some rest.

Happy that Saka is back because it's clear he was playing injured for most of the season. Lastly, Viktor needed this and it was his best game for us. He had proper control of the ball and was able to score when given the chance. He's not a player to hold up like Havertz and you need to catch him while he's moving because he's lively in that regard. I still wish we got another goal at half, but still a great result
