Donald Penn's +6.3 pass-blocking grade has him ranked first among all offensive tackles through three weeks. He has allowed just three hurries on 125 pass-blocking snaps. Hudson is second to Nick Mangoldin pass-blocking grades for centers (+1.3).
Gabe Jackson's +10.1 overall grade leads all guards and his +6.4 run-blocking grade also tops the position.
Alternately, the secondary has suffered mostly from the poor play of their former top pick, DJ Hayden. He is tied for the seventh most targets (26) in the league thus far and his -6.7 grade is ranked 98 out of 100 cornerbacks. PFF writer Ben Stockwell said of Hayden:
The Raiders' 2013 first-round pick has struggled to find the field in the last three seasons, and when he has played he has been consistent. So far this season he has yet to find the good to balance the subpar. Hayden has allowed a 20-plus-yard catch in two of his three games, surrendered a pair of touchdowns and has missed four tackles — taking his career total to 18 in 21 games.
