Did they really? That doesn't surprise me. It's a major reason I completely disregard anything coming from The Ringer. Simmons was so fukking biased against Kobe and the Lakers that I couldn't stomach anything associated with him after a while. Their slants are clear as day.

Yes it was the Howard Book of Basketball and bringing up 2013, it came out soon after Kobe's death. A lot of jokes and slander towards him. And you are right, its just hard to take those seriously who have been biased towards him their whole lives. Its not genuine
