Yesterday on my way home from work, as I was going to my train in Grand Central, I walked by a group of Korean girls taking a picture with a black MTA worker. The girls were ecstatic.
I only know they were Korean because I heard him ask where they were from.

I wasn't sure if they were just happy to be visiting NYC, or if they were amazed at seeing a black man in person.

my mom's friend told me when he was a doctor in canada he was the first black people a lot of people ever saw. This was like 30 years ago though
