...on the otherside of the pond
I was never mad at the black women who felt a way about Floyd. For many of them, the magnitude and sheer size of Saturday's fight introduced them to Floyd's BS and they reacted accordingly and will continue to do so around the issue. But for many in the media always aware of Floyd's behavior, there was no "genuine" concern about black women facing abuse prior to his fight with Pacquiao. It was the platform and size tied to Floyd that increased their "sudden" concern. For example, Both Keith Olbermann and Michelle Beadle worked and work with Jim Lampley for years....a man who knocked out his girlfriend and intimidated witnesses to the abuse, yet he failed to be their springboard. So for those two, their sudden concern is not only suspect but hypocritical. Genuine concerns are tied to consistent principles & consistent principles doesn't worry about the size of the stage tied to who attempts to compromise it.
Something tells me that the black women concerned about domestic violence affecting them will be them and them alone speaking on it while the concerns expressed by many who appeared as the spotlight on the fight grew will no longer show any "concern" since benefits of the attention it drew to them is no longer around.
