Train in New Jersey crashes into building, 100 people hurt, many people trapped

- A NJ Transit train has struck the Lackawana terminal in Hoboken. Photos and videos shared online show major structural damage. There are reportedly multiple injuries. A massive emergency personnel presence is now on the scene.

Social media users who say they were on the train say the train was moving at a high rate of speed as it entered the station.


There were no official reports on the number of injuries but there were reports that 100 people could be hurt.

The strike occurred at about 9 a.m., rush hour at the very busy transit station. The Lackawanna entrance connecting NJ Transit trains to PATH is currently closed.
