It’ll be a hell of a task to turn 2 mediocre-at-best film franchises into something good

I'd watch :yeshrug: both were big parts of my childhood in the 80s. But damn they fukked up the 1st GI Joe movie soo bad. The 2nd on was cool but it's still missing something, like what the 1st Transformer movie had. They strayed too far from the comics/cartoon, while the Transformers did not.

This would be hard as hell if the live action TF weren't so far from the comics/cartoon. The comics were great.

Well there goes the franchise, Hemsworth's non Marvel stuff has been traditional box office poison :pachaha:

He can't be any worse playing Duke than Tatum.

As breh above said earlier, paramount/hasbro hasn't really built-up/rejuvenated the GI Joe brand like that. Transformers they ran into the ground a bit but at least they had that four movie run from '07-'14 where the IP had massive popularity and Optimus and Bumblebee became household names for a new generation of kids.

Conversely, people don't even care about Snake Eyes like that, his movie massively bombed and cost paramount nearly 90 mil. So we'll see but kinda feels like the cart before the horse.
