New York hip hop is basically in the same category as DC go go. DC go go music is popular in the DMV region and that about it. But at least it gets local support. New York hip hop music doesn't have mass appeal and there's nothing wrong with that. The fact that there is no support is kinda bad but at the end of the day if local fans want to hear it, it would get played eventually. It seems like the artists should focus on building a core fan base and expand their brand gradually instead of bytching and complaining about not being played on Hot 97 or Power 105.
