The problem with Obama is they never tooted their own horn about shyt to a fault.

If Trump does something he will be on Twitter ASAP and as bombastically as possible let you know he did some shyt. Like with the lowest unemployment number for blacks. That shyt has been decreasing at a steady pace since 2011 and if you look at the data the trend was continuing into Trump's first year before any major economic legislation from his administration even passed. Yet he made sure the narrative that the lowest unemployment rate happened under his watch despite this was part of the overall unemployment trend continuing from the previous admin.

I also remember getting in some back and forths with posters here about the DOJ with claims of them not doing shyt for black folks or anything different than what Jeff Sessions will do and I'd have to come in with links and a exhaustive list showing otherwise. The thing is that the Obama administration never made big news of those things so people will even know it happen. That or people are purposely being cynical just to be contrarian and in the process just ignoring that shyt which happens a lot on here too

It took Obama 4 years into his presidency to see a decrease after Clinton/Bush.

His year by year increase/decrease was not gradual or linear.

This administrations policy is cause for concern especially if people with this ideology get a 2nd term but let’s provide an accurate picture.

Without starting a back and forth again, this I agree with you on as far as what the data shows but I think it's noteworthy in the full context of the rest of chart that the only decreases happened during Obama's term and Trump's first year.

I think, at this point, don't know if you agree, whether that smaller bar at 2017 is a sign of a change or just a nonlinear sign but continued trend of what we see before like you said, there is no way of knowing. Won't know until more years show up.

This is such a load of horseshyt. Black women started the push for Alice Johnson and black women are bringing awareness to and pushing for leniency for Matthew Charles among others. But Trump won't meet with them, because it would not bring about a good photo opportunity. It's incredibly saddening to see so many people on here fall for this. I dont think anyone with sense thinks Trump is being benevolent or goimg to seriously decrease the incarceration total.

The hope is that he doesnt have enough time to enact massive change in the other direction. It took Obama 2 terms.
