I don't understand the big deal with this Manning case.

These are the facts.

Manning was 1 of 30 something complaints by the lady trainner against UT

UT settles for 300 000

6 years later Manning co-writes a book where he recalls his incendent. He says it was not a big deal and calls trainner "vulgar mouth"

Trainner finds out and takes manning to court for defemation.

They reach a settlement.

:yeshrug:. The thirty complaints says more about UT than Manning.

Mannings book means nothing. Of course he's gonna disclose things that make her look like the loon.

The big deal is, how Manning is given automatic benefit of a doubt vs other QB's and players...

The victim blaming and mental gymnastics that football fans and sports media does to protect certain QB's vs other QB's is a very big deal. They'll take a pro-woman/feminist viewpoint when it comes to "X" QB, but will adopt the same misogynistic viewpoint of victim blaming and slut shaming when it's a certain kinda QB being vilified by the accuser....

Ryen Russillo bringing up Jim Brown's past discretions :mjpls:

He said Shaun King's not writing an article about that and we know why:mjpls:

Now he qualified his Jim Brown comment by saying "I'm not saying we should attack Jim Brown:whoa:....but I'm not sure we want to play this game "

Missing the point that its not what Peyton did. It's how we rarely ever hear or heard about it. I've heard plenty over the years about Jim Brown's issues.

No the point is some guy who wishes he was black wanted to the deflect from the criticism Cam was getting after the Super Bowl so he brought up something COMPLETELY irrelevant regarding Peyton Manning that was discussed and dealt with 20 years ago.

Time isn't kind to Black athletes, so why should I give a damn about them randomly bringing up Peyton's past discretions?

They stay bringing up Jim Browns past issues when they feel he's been a little "too black" and they feel the need to humble him.

And lol @ Ryen Rusillo saying "You don't wanna play this game", they've been playing these games for a while, that's why they have no leverage to bring up any past infidelities of Black athletes, there's nothing to hide since Whites bring them up already...

I admit I started reading this thread on page 10 so this may have been stated but there's no way that this story about Peyton wasn't known before the SuperBowl. I think it's bullshyt that this story breaks days after the Superbowl instead of before so Peyton who I am/was a fan of wouldn't have to answer questions on the biggest stage.

Instead the media runs with the Cam Newton as a polarizing figure storyline leading up to the big game most likely knowing about this Peyton situation but waited to pull the trigger on it. I'm sure this will be swept under the rug tho like it has been for the last 20 years.
