NEW YORK CITY
The identity issues is so strong.

I remember posting on online forums in the early 2000 when New York had its own unique identity musically and stylistcally. Now y’all just some trend hopping gang bangers, banging sets that originated in Los Angeles. New York use to set trends. Now y’all just follow them :hhh:
nyc has been pumping out culture and influence through hip hop since the early 1970's

it is what it is. Out of towners still bumping this shyt

The irony of all this is - NYC street cats use to clown L.A. for its gang culture in the 90’s. And then y’all let these L.A. gangs come over and take over all y’all whole shyt:wow:

People been gangbanging in NY for decades. It wasn't until the 90s that Bloods and Crips became the two major factions. Out of towners acting like y'all know more about the city than us.

No need to front bae. Blood and crips in the 90’s were the minority in NYC. While gangs like the Latin Kings, decepticons and numerous other street gangs in NYC at the time were the majority.

NYC use to try to clown L.A street gangs blood and crips. But now, blood and crips are the majority. Like I said, L.A. gangs came and took over y’all whole shyt.

Bow the fuk down. Calling us lame back in the day for our gang ties only to come bite our shyt. Fuk outta here.

As I stated before, NYC in the 90’s had their own identity whether it was street shyt or hip hop shyt. But now, NYC has 0 identity of its own and resort to biting other cities street culture.

Like what the fukk happen to y’all. Went from setting trends to biting y’all whole shyt. Pathetic.

Edit: this is coming from someone who has actually lived in NYC for 5+ years so I’m not talking as some cat just comes to visit on vacation. I lived in a Brooklyn 4th and Atlantic before the Barclays went up for years. I’ve come across both blood and crips in the city. So I understand how and why the blood and crips ended up in NYC. But it’s pathetic and weak how y’all just let them take over entire neighborhoods so easily when you guys were so against them for so many years. Until it became popular to be banging blood and crip in the mainstream and of course y’all just hop on that trend like the followers you are now. :manny:

Five years is your source for proof. I've lived here for my entire life. You've talked to people, I've lived it. Towards the end of the 90s, they began popping up, multiplying and eventually got the Latin Kings out of the paint, small time cliques either got down or laid down which is why so many smaller gangs here have that affiliation to the Bloods, Crips or Folks (in Brooklyn). As I've said, NYC had been banging long before LA gang culture became what it is was. The Warriors was based off of how NYC had been for some time.

Naw bloods took over Harlem and the Bronx in the 90s. When mack Mack came out towards to the late 90s I believe,. It was damn near a celebration. Everybody knew who the bloods were in ny through that decade after 93
