If she just stays where she was at (after getting to the bar first) there probably is no confrontation.

I've said from the beginning that it doesnt justify the punch. I was just breaking down the situation and giving the context of it. He should have never hit her and once he grabbed her fist that was the first sign he needed to get out of there. At worst it should have been a slight push and then leave the scene.

He's from New York (I think moved to Florida for HS) so I'm sure his parents warned him about what not to do.....ESPECIALLY in the south.


Adding more context to it..... we have to not condone, but understand where these kids are coming from though. Its even more important to get them to understand consequences and put aside pride because of the social media age.


1. Everything can be on camera now days. One really bad thing on camera will negate anything that happens before it. As evidenced by the Meggs interview. Again, doesnt justify the punch....but its not interpreted a certain way. That outlook affects him going forward.

2. The pressure of social media and how it can hurt your pride. Think of this way. These kids grow up in a world with meme's of Jay Z getting attacked in an elevator. Young kids (boys/Girls) are now susceptible to this Worldstar/TMZ world of everything that happens can be on video and you can be viewed as a joke. Imagine if a video released of the girl putting the fist up at him and it showed him taking off running. He would be clowned here, twitter and every road game the rest of his playing days. However, thats the lesser evil compared to punching a woman...who no matter how aggressive she was.....wasnt really a threat throwing soft jabs.

Thats where pride is at. Dude didnt punch her because she was a threat. He punched her because he was just flat out disrespected and had enough.

actually, it s a normal move at them tight ass bars, if a nicca got to wait, then a nicca got to wait, bars like that like groups, they hate solo drinkers and will ignore them usually, so anybody who goes to the bar there knows you ahve to be pushy to get a drink, but in today's climate, a black man being pushy like that, will find a bullet quicker than he would find a drink
