This nonsensical complaint again. Nobody has gotten removed for their politics. People get bushed for breaking site rules, being obvious 4cac trolls, and spamming the board. It's a Hip Hop site, it's going to skew left, and you know that the serious long-time conservative voices are still here.

well, i guess i will throw my hat in the ring.
i would like to let everyone know that i am a fairly recent regular to HL.
i've been a member of this community for well over a decade now so i think that those of you who go back as far as i do have some opinion of me as a poster.

my humor is often crass, dark, sarcastic and frowned upon by some.
politically and socially, i lean to the left.
i have a job so i can't be on here 24/7/365 keeping up on shyt.
i like to converse with others and try not to go full retard flame war status.
i think the word "retarded" can be funny and no one can take that away from me.

i started out as a lurker in HL on but never really engaged in conversation.
once the great migration took place i started posting every now and then in HL.
fairly recently i've found myself in HL more and more.
now i am a regular visitor who occasionally drops some links, talks shyt but most importantly i try to learn from what other have to share.
i would like to think that my interactions with my fellow posters have been positive ones...even when it is with those i may disagree with.

i believe in attacking ideas, not the people who share them.
if someone is posting what you consider to be garbage then attack them on what they have said.
the debates needs to be had so that market place of ideas can bring the cream of the crop to the top.

no doubt there are very subtle trolls out there who fukk with and blur the lines.
modding a forum like HL is a heavy task.

i don't even know if i want the position but i hope that whoever becomes a mod in HL reads what i just posted and takes something away from it.

These were the posters who I've scanned through the thread and got the most mentions and that I could fit into the poll. I'll eliminate the lowest vote getters after a week, maybe cut this in half.

So for what it's worth, @FAH1223 can you request (not required) that those screennames provide a simple paragraph explaining their platform or position on how they want to moderate HL? You can maybe copy and paste in the OP.

I think that would help folks really see who we are selecting. Besides people have multiple views on multiple topics, so just their views on moderation in this intellectual space for free and open dialogue would be nice to know. Plus, people can't complain they didn't know a mod was going to be a certain way........again for what it's worth.

I've always viewed it a few ways after someone brought my name up.

Maintenance:

• Merge duplicates with old threads
• Merge/bush/close cross posts
• Temp sticky threads that draw a lot of discussion and threads that are important.
• Speak with the other mods about reports and what tone wants to be set. In general most things fly here outside of obvious racism and absurd levels of trolling. And I think that's okay. More times than not I enjoy what conservative set and conspiracy set bring up. I think it sparks good conversation. Personally, I don't like that you all disregard people's objections, but as a forum I think it's important.
• Merge nap.
• Fix thread titles that don't do good threads justice in order to make them more visible and exciting.

Personal:

• Create more threads. Generally I don't post everything I read and instead respond more when I see others bring those up.
• I'm still going joke around, but I believe that's important to the free flow of ideas and how message boards work.
• Research topics I'm not great at and just give objective and thread progressing conversation.
• Stop arguing with TWISM as much. I don't dislike him as much as y'all think or I show. It's just fun.

External:

• I thought @DEAD7's HL podcast was a great idea and created a different level on dialogue among the willing and the refs. Yes, I know hotep was banned.
• I think there's a space here for more deep dives. Think book club/pow wow.
• I think there should be ongoing discussion here how we as black people can be more successful. There are a lot of is here and we all want that.

Those with concerns:

I don't want to quiet your voice. There's a lot of real, honest, good, and productive ideas you all have.

Conspiracy's are fun. We can enjoy them.

For whom it may concern,

I'm not an establishment dem. I'm just a black man from the south that believes black people should do whatever we can to build our wealth and keep our dignity and we (leftist or blacks) aren't quite in a position to excuse the final form of black excellence, but we can and we will.

I've been an athlete, a coach, a mentor, a boss, and an investor.

This space is cool. I want to see it grow. And yes, that means me growing myself.

All I really have to say is that I've been around for a long time (OG from KTL back in the days) and don't intend to leave any time soon, so I have a vested interest in the quality of the forum.

I don't have any particular agenda per se other than trying to think of good topics and making sure people follow the rules and don't spam up the board.
