You don't think Peterson and Hayden are close to Sherman?

:patrice:

Not really. Haden is a better cover corner than Peterson, I think PP is overrated in that aspect. He has all the tools, just isn't there yet. I personally think Brent Grimes is a better cover corner than Peterson right now, but PP has potential to be the best in the league because of his athleticism and physicality. He makes ground by being a dynamic returner, though.

Russell Wilson. (this team was 7-9 without him , with the same cast of characters the year previous)

:ohhh: And to think I just negged you...Yeh I agree. I started to choose Earl as well for the simple fact there really isn't a clear concise best player on the team. I feel like the band of characters they do have collectively work well together. The synergy that Pete Carroll brings to the locker room all has them performing at their peeks much like at USC.

USC had a lot of players who were the best at their positions on paper. A bunch of blue chips during Pete's reign but you can see a lot of those players didn't pan out in the league. Some did like Matthews, Cushing, Bush, etc but they've had more flops then not. I think the same is with this Seahawks team. They just work well together. But if I had to choose a specific player it would Russ as well because he's the creation of Pete Carroll. His demeanor and approach to the game is very similar to Carroll's. Their relationship is Brady/Beli like...The team really trusts Russ with the ball. I've never seen that type of love shown by a team to a 1st and 2nd year player. No rumblings about should he, shouldn't he start. Never a peep about his professionalism or personality or ability to lead. Just love.

Pat Peterson is the most over-rated defensive player in the league at this point.

Earl Thomas is their best player, Sherman is good but he also benefits from a lot of calls going his way.

If you think Russel Wilson, you know nothing about football imo.

Pre ACL he had the crown but its been a slow recovery process...

Not really, Revis was great last year.

Revis and Talib would be in that next tier, with Janoris on their heels. Wasn't really impressed with Revis last year. Thought he was really good, but clearly not as great as he was pre-injury.

Blasphemy.

Uncertain grounds
Killa Kam is my favorite on the team. He benefits from great surrounding cast obviously but he is my personal favorite to watch. I think he should have been Super Bowl MVP and he just crushes people. He's not the "best" though.

Most underrated is Bobby Wagner. Dude low-key shut-down Jimmy Graham.

To answer the question, probably Earl. Its hard to say on the defensive side because everyone benefits from each other so much.

One might even describe his career as a fiasco
