Yeah im aware about whats happening in oakland, my family out there sold out early this month. made a crazy profit and now have to leave alameda county. They didnt have to leave, they just chose to take that equity and buy something cash somewhere else. but they screwed themself because of that prop 13 in california. prop taxes are so high in the new spot they regret leaving oakland. You are doing something about it. If you are living right, raising your seed right and making moves. Once you get your shyt together, you can go back in and help those who desire to be helped. A lot of niccas just don't THINK like that. I've spoken to niccas about buying property in West OAKLAND. Now, you can't even afford to live in the area because it's being gentrified. This is the Harlem of the west coast I'm talking about. Black folk worked their fingers to the bone during the shipyard and left the property to their children and grandchildren. What did these niccas do? Sell the property and blow the money. A lot of our folk make HORRIBLE decisions but I've learned so much of that comes from a lack of vision and knowledge. White folk and Asians keep a lot of that information to themselves, they don't hold seminars and let knowLedge trickle down to our people. A brother put me on to real estate, and instead of blowing my money, I invested. I'm cashing out in spring/summer 2015 and I'm going to REINVEST. I'm going to raise my son the same way. The bibles says my people perish for a lack of knowledge and it says where there is no Vision the people perish.
i also peeped this in the filmore dist (i used to think that was Harlem West) and hunters point. spending time in the bay made me realize that our community issues are the same nationwide. we literally being forced out of communities that have been our enclaves for decades. that weekens us as a community. we are regressing so fast.
