Wale seems like a great dude. You can tell he really cares about and loves hip hop. Which, I think people get butthurt about and label him some over emotional music because he actually gives a shyt.. So many rappers like "idgaf, I'm getting paper!" When asked questions about it or the state of it, social issues etc It's like the game has been watered down for so long by people mostly in it for the fame & money, who have no knowledge of self or reflect it on their music that it offends the audience when a dude like Wale exists in the game.
Same w/ J Cole , I bought his last album and listened to it once. Wasn't into it, but at least he's doing something positive and delivering a message that your average black person can relate to. But hey, I guess putting the Migos and Young Thugs on a pedestal while hating on the Wales and J Coles is what's "cool" these days. Even though 3,5/4ths of the black community probably can't even relate to that kinda music cause we know that most of the black community isn't whippin white, shooting "ops" or drivin strictly 300k foreigns.
It's like it pisses people off tO see a black man try and uplift his fellow brothers and sisters because white supremacy fukked the game all up when so much white peoppe money was put into to drown out regular guy or conscience hip hop.
