Ladies, you can't have it both ways on this. You can't blame Black men for the way Black women feel about their bodies, then on the same token tell a man who asked you, in an extremely kind and humble way to embrace what God gave you, to essentially shut up and mind his business. At some point you are going to have to come to the realization that these super big butts and all these over the top operations (which injure or kill if done wrong) are something you do to validate yourself. Its not about what is most detrimental to Black people, it doesn't make it less sad. Its not about what you see on regular women either. It's about influence it is having on us as a culture how we are viewed and what young girls are aspiring to. I can unfollow them, but there are thousands who don't. You can even see on this board men who don't even know what real women should look like. That's dangerous when something fake is the standard.
Why say that doesn't matter then say something as superficial as weave does. I have never heard of weave killing anyone just off procedure, or people going to jail for putting weave in. The same way I feel fake body parts and the affects it has on beauty standards especially for black women is bad, weave could fall into that category. Its all superfacial, I don't think it is worse.
