Back in the good media days, people brought in writers if they wrote a good column on their shows to discuss their piece.

Yall think any of these "only negro in the room" media brothers are willing to share the spotlight for a show?

:mjpls:

Doubt it.

As much as it pains me to see a man be ethered, this is what was needed.

I love chuck, but he is so far removed from the average black male experience that he really needs to stfu when commenting on social issues especially with his own community.

Walt, the santa cause of the coli. Always giving, but more importantly, nurturing are minds to be better.

You can find people eating horse shyt on the internet. It doesn't mean it speaks for a body or group of people.

:childplease:nikka, I aint talking about internet trolls, I'm talkin' about Harry Belafonte, and tons of journalists, and activists who've been calling out them for years for not "speaking up".

Asking celebrities (who profit off black culture) to simply point out the obvious, (#BlackLivesMatter) isn't quite the same as asking them to speak on black issues.

:mindblown: That's EXACTLY what it's doing. Saying "Black Lives Matter" is a political statement about the status of Black people in Amerikkka. Nobody should be asking Iggy Azalea & Selena Gomez about the status of Black people in Amerikkka.

You clearly ARE talking about the internet.

Those "asking" that you keep citing are ONLINE. :mjlol:

Who else is asking? News One? The folks at the forum i attended at the schomburg with thr panel speaking on the current stare of the prison industrial complex? The YMCA board I'm on? Who are these people asking that you are ciring?

And don't disrespect Harry. He's smart enough to be around of intellectual black artists during his time that eloquently spoke up. So cominf out of that life experience hw should NOT have expectations? Worst of all, you suddenly act as if HE has put aside the quality of celebrities he's been around and is among the small minded internet group indiscriminately asking for idiot celebs you cited to speak so you can contimue push your extremely flawed and shytty point in the coli? :childplease:

fukk outta here

It's a tweet. Literally the least they can do.
