Think about it. Millions of blacks moving to cities in the North and West due to economic downturn and lynchings/pogroms (refugee crisis). Sending money back South (remittances). Living in homes with multiple people. Whites complaining about migrants stealing jobs that they would never work themselves. Physical and educational improvements in life comes with said migrations. And, finally a large network of blacks is created from state to state (intranational diaspora). Idk about you but it sounds like the classic American immigrant story just with a twist.

Basically a bunch of people from John Hope Franklin to Thomas Sowell have said the same thing. If we had been a normal American people we would probably not be trapped in decaying inner city hoods but having our own ethnic markets and been integrated in the suburbs. But this is America sadly and we don't always get a happily ever after.

Technically not a immigrant story but yes they migrated up north for opportunity.

Also there was a false sense of thinking that they were leaving the “racist” south.

NO
im·mi·grant
/ˈiməɡrənt/

Learn to pronounce

noun
noun: immigrant; plural noun: immigrants
a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.

A bunch of Russians volunteeringly moving from Siberia to Moscow are NOT immigrants even if its half-way around the world! :dahell:

The Deep South and the Western part of the US are not two separate countries :dahell:

There is no comparison :mindblown:

Similarities to immigration not actual immigration. The TLR really can't read at all.
