Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player ever, turned 56 on Sunday. Fittingly, the GOAT’s birthday comes on the same day as the 2019 NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte, which is being hosted by the team that he owns.
To celebrate Jordan’s 56th, let’s watch highlights of him dropping 56 points on two NBA teams that were helpless to stop the Bulls’ superstar from doing whatever he wanted.
His first and only time scoring exactly 56 points in a regular season game came in a 93-91 win over the 76ers in 1987. He also grabbed seven rebounds and came up with eight steals in the narrow victory.
That statline
Jordan also scored 56 on the Heat in a 1992 playoff game. His points helped the Bulls finish off a three-game sweep of Miami, which was making its playoff debut.
