I think this is a great idea, especially from a black business perspective. I would echo the sentiments of @Mr. Somebody in terms of oversight and quality assurance regarding the businesses we would be promoting amongst our networks.

I don't mind promoting businesses, especially from black people. It would just be nice to know that I'm not leading any friend or associate to something that is not ready to fulfill orders.

Besides that, I would have no issue.

Curious to see what others think. :ehh:

Peace
Yeah this is me right here

the internet
coli cash wouldnt work. we dont have anyway to distribute it other than the sportsbook, stock market or individually editing someones account.

is a credit system even needed?

shameless plug - if you guys didnt know we have a subforum called the chop shop
http://www.thecoli.com/forums/the-chop-shop.47/

that forum would be a good place to organize things like this. the purpose of that subforum is to encourage building and learning, whether its improving photoshop skills or learning to make a website. promoting a business or whatever, especially using social media would certainly fall into the scope of that subforum
Yo I had no idea that forum existed :obama:

but I think for e-commerce type jobs people are trying to set up around here this is golden

I have no problem with it except for what type of businesses people what to support. Porn, ratchet low class shyt about PINKY or Cherokee D'ass to promote some club event i'm not with it

anything like technology, updated information in terms of minority banking or investing opportunities is something i would do

I was just in the thread made by @itsyoung!! (Click Here) Where he was basically talking about the difficulties he was having with promoting his business due to changes in Social Media (FB/Twitter/IG)

So I was thinking...
  • There are a bunch of other people here trying to start up business or smalls side hustles.
  • The Coli has a strong network of people and the site is getting more and more notoriety.
  • We have thousands of members here so taping into each persons individual network could help a lot.
  • This is also a good way to support black businesses. We have some cac business people too, we can show them love as well.

The Idea:
What if we had a system here, where we send tweets/IG posts/FB posts on our personal social networking sites on behalf of the businesses of other coli members. (This will expose those businesses to people in our personal networks.) And in return we get credit so that we can promote our own businesses.

Even if you currently don't have a business, you can build up credit for the day you decide to sell T-Shirts with coli-smilies on them...promote a party that you are throwing...advertise for your game tickets you want to sell...whatever. There are a lot of creative people on here who think of some good side hustles and if we co-op our promoting efforts we can all eat.

Example, say I send out promo for @itsyoung!!...I'll get credit (coli cash or something) so that when I decide to promote my business, party, event, t-shirts, ect. I can be eligible for other coli members to promote my website. If you do not earn credit by promoting other people's business then you will not be able to have people promote for you.

To avoid spammers from coming to the coli and exploiting this, we can set requirements like...
  • Aged Coli Accounts: You have to have an account that is setup for at least a month.
  • Minimum Post Amount: You have to be an active poster. No New Niiggas.
  • Credit Earned by promoting other peoples pages. Do for other and they will do for you.
  • Must post screen shots/provide links of you promoting other coli businesses.
Also, every user will have to list there social site in their profile to verify that they have a healthy enough network. At least a hundred or so followers/friends.

What do you yall think?

EDIT: Please vote so that we can track all the people who are interested. I enough people vote yes then we can start a group on the coli for those that want to be involved. Vote YES if you would want an invite.
Hmm... Interesting idea:myman:

I feel you. Any ideas on how to deal with this. I mentioned that each person can promote what they feel comfortable with but other than that...lets come up with a system that will work around that issue.
