What kind of modem do you have?

I have the same router as OP. Been meaning to cop a modem but just putting it off for no reason at all. My cable company doesn't deserve any of my loot either.

man, if you're leasing a modem, you are a dummy. last cable modem I had was a motorola SB5100 and had that bytch for over 10 years.

replaced it with a motorola SB6121 since I wanted a DOCSIS 3.0 modem.

the first 5100 lasted from like 2002 to 2014 which means I recouped the $55 I paid for it over 10 times over by NOT leasing.

the 6121, I bought for like $35 last year. and I'm sure I'll have that a good 10 more years.
