Oz is entertaining but not nearly on the level of The Wire, plus it becomes a homo love drama after a while with multiple scenes. I didn't see it when it aired but I went through it when Amazon Instant Video put up all the HBO shows.

I would say go with The Wire first and then watch Oz when you're done.

It's a quicker binge watch if that's how you gonna get down with it, but you should def peep both.
