What was it like when Jay-Z came out of retirement?

The hip hop scene changed so much in those three years that no one was really missing Jay like that.
Kingdom Come was mid and this is coming from someone who thinks he's the GOAT.
The next album American Gangster was a return to form

Intro is exceptional. Great movie reference.

To be honest I never belived fully he was retired because his verse on college dropout 04 “fire” that and common’s verse on that album where the best 16s on the project

Dear summer 05 I think on Memphis bleek album (I think) fire ppl played that song the whole summer

So I thought maybe he was falling back not fully retired

But both kingdom come and hip hop is dead I waited at zia records because sometimes they would do midnight releases and I’ve come to respect kingdom come but it was nowhere near the black album but he started getting back in his bag on American gangster and bp3 I was very happy with

I wasn't hyped until I read the Entertainment Weekly article where he detailed the songs. Album was nothing like what he described as I was most hyped to hear "Most Kings" and that song ain't even make the cut.

The rollout for that album was ridiculous. Jay had HP commercials, some Hangar tour that coincided with NFL, and he was doing deals with world leaders in regard to selling water.

WHOA! If anything Jay is the worst part of the song. Beat and hook is good, I like Jay’s flow on it
