@GoddamnyamanProf pointed this out in game 5. :whew:
:salute:

"B-b-but Curry still got open looks anyway, he just missed them!"

Again missing the point Ive been making all season about Curry and the refs. Its not just that the illegal screens create extra wide open shots...its also the fact that Curry KNOWS they're finessing the refs and getting away with some sheisty shyt and he loves it, he FEEDS off of that fact. Its all about momentum. How many times do we see a team miss a layup or a big shot on one end and the other team comes down and hits a big three? You can even witness the same phenomenon in pickup games. Everything seems to be going your way and that gives you ultra confidence in everything you do, which is the most important factor when it comes to jumpshooting. Its no different with Curry and the refs. When they get a couple calls or they get off on some illegal picks, its like Curry senses that shyt is going their way. I dont know what his actual percentages are on shots that come immediately following a questionable call or screen, but I guarantee its shockingly high. Game 4 was a perfect example of this. At one point in the 2nd half Curry missed an open look, then a few minutes later Bogut set a couple of super obvious moving, holding screens that went uncalled, Steph hit a couple big shots and could be seen visibly laughing while running back downcourt, like "oh shyt they lettin us do THAT again? :gladbron: :mjlol: We got this" Then the whole rest of the team feeds off Curry when he gets it going.

Edit - correction:

Over the last three games (where Bogut was basically out - apart from limited minutes in G5):

Warriors attempted 19.3 open shots per game
Warriors attempted 14.7 wide open shots per game

= 34 open shots per game

Over the first four games (where Bogut was playing):

Warriors attempted 20 open shots per game
Warriors attempted 13.8 wide open shots per game

= 33.8 open shots per game

So basically the Warriors had more open shots when Bogut wasn't playing - y'all can get rid of this dumb thread now.
