Because a lot of them are just bandwagon fans and only jumped on the train because the media gave them the signal, some of them weren't old enough to have heard em.

Either way, I listen to TBIH more than any of the Carters.

Because his stanship didn't really start until around The Carter. At least that's when nikkas I know started really fukking with Wayne. Personally I didn't really start fukking with Wayne until the Knuck if You Buck freestyle. I remember my whole middle school knowing that shyt word for word. Then Carter 2 came out and I was a fan. From there we all know the dedication series, drought 2, etc.

The Block Is Hot and Lights Out>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Wayne was spazzing on Lights Out

Psst, hello world
I zip through fast in a yellow pearl drop Porsche Boxter
Young mobster, wild and obnoxious
Pop some in your dreadlocks - What? Me not no rookie, boy
Glock cookin', boy
I'll turn your forehead to a p*ssy, boy

:picard:

Off the gate, cousin, you nikkas gon' make me stalk and spray somethin'
Spark or lace somethin'
Park the car, get out, walk, and spray somethin'
Taught to stay thuggin' brought up in this shyt that we call America
And in my hood the laws are scared of us - we are too terrible

:damn:

If I live to be old, it's a miracle
Cause the way a nikka hatin' or bytch plottin', the shyt's hysterical
That's why I keep me two big guns on blast like a stereo
Come to your burial and kill anybody else who care for you
Don't blame me, society changed me
You haul white, you smash powder all night for the fast dollar
Cut off lights, we masked riders
The hood trash got us in a position we can't shake
With bars we can't break, and due to that you ain't safe, bytch

:wow:

The last days of Wayne being Wayne, Mannie Fresh killing production, and the Hot Boys being together :mjcry:

They probably weren't fans of southern rap. I dont know how big hot boyz were outside the south but I could definitely see other regions completely writing him off around that time. Carter era Wayne was a shift where his style became more palatable to a general hip hop ear.
