This puzzles me at times. We haven't even figured our (individual) selves out yet, how are we making pronouncements, on each other? But do we really ever have the other half figured out?

Most of it is anecdotal...everyone's individual experience shapes their reality. You'd be hard pressed convincing them otherwise because empathy plays a big role in being able to understand where someone is coming from.
In theory you can see the logic behind explaining the sexes to someone but experience really trumps that..and you can't really experience everything in one lifetime.

tbh I only assume the very basics
But some people out here writing whole dissertations about what they "know" to be true about the opposite gender without any data.
a woman will never understand the concept of pride, loyalty and honor because they weren't raised with those concepts constantly being reinforced day to day like men

A lot of people just repeat what other people say anyway. That's why the same "all women want etc...." "every man should do....." type of advice is given. A lot of people just want to sound smarter than they are and like they have it all figured out.
