her is one thing I have noticed it seems to be most of the ps4 that are breaking are doing updates at the time especially if you playing a game at the same time. I think this is where Microsoft has the advantage with the three operating systems because if one side crashes it doesn't affect the other. Actually is pretty smart on Microsoft side.

well Sony is a hardware company, they have never been that great when it comes to software. Microsoft is the world's biggest software company believe what you want but Microsoft is very good when it comes to software. The windows 8 kernel has been very stable & efficient. Sony is trying to match Microsoft almost feature for feature with one operating system, its the reason why Microsoft went with 3 operating systems they're not stupid.

Yes, I agree with that, but my concern is about how this stuff can even occur to begin with, given all the prep time these companies have. This should be discovered and problem solved months in advance, way before batches are even being created.

With my luck I'll end up with a defect of each console at launch

Still, friend, this it the last gen microsoft will ever make consoles they are in survival mode so even if the ps4 has the same failure rate at the ps3, the failures will be magnified by xbots who are disgruntled with their purchase and see the writing on the wall for their console.
