Of course there are outliers, but the general consensus is that a hurt woman will often take things to a level that most (not all, but most) men will not.
There is a reason why one of the most popular idioms in the world is
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"
The following is not directed to you but its pertinent to this convo:
I went to a bbq earlier today with some friends and we talked about something similar to this.
Women there were very able to admit their faults, as were the men.
We actually had an enlightening discussion about the issues that effect our community.
But I think on the internet, its always easier for men and women to play full-court defense and take every critique as an attack that must be deflected or strawmanned because god forbid the other side makes a valid point.
And then all conversations derive into name calling and pointing to personal anecdotes instead of anything vaguely resembling constructive thought.
Men... and women... we really gotta shake off this pride that we carry that makes us blind common sense and sets us always in attack mode vs the other gender.
