Competitive jiu jitsu and jiu jitsu in the streets aren't performed the same way though. People in these grappling tournaments compete for points in a controlled environment with rules, and have to use strategy/patience against other learned/high level guys with the only risks being a tournament loss, whereas you go for the kill in a real fight.
