Don't be scared to wear pants that fit a little closer than what you're use to. Slim fitting didn't necessarily mean nut-hugging. What's your build type?

Start simple and build up to your comfort level, try something like this - slim (not skinny) black jeans, black vans, white v-neck, slightly large blue chambray denim button down (sleeves rolled up / unbuttoned). Could get all this at target or kohls if you on a budget.

The main thing you should have in your wardrobe are some jeans, some various color t-shirts, a few button downs, some polos and a variety of shoes/sneakers. Those are go to basic all around looks, and you can fit in just about anywhere and with anyone.
