I thought he would wait until the off-eason before signing a multiyear deal to see if he could get more money but it seems I'm wrong

smart move by the Warriors. Keeps a guy on the bench who has shown he can play, so you wouldn't have to worry about filling that position with G League guys or minimum contracts.

A long term contract offered by the Warriors wouldn't be for much money. Cook will probably try to leverage his play from here on out into a decent deal from another team.

lol i guess i should have been a little more clear...the contract is gonna be signed before the playoffs. he aint tryna leverage nobody , bruh wasnt even signed at the start of the year

Can't lie, I'm appreciating his willingness to shoot (and hit!!!) the 3....With McCaw and Casspi basically unwilling/able to let it fly, Cook has been a welcome change.

So.........who's getting cut??? If this deal gets done today, it's Casspi, right (but please tell me it's not... :D)?

Nah, i just meant that his play at the end of this year, and possibly through the playoffs could have another team looking to sign him for more money. I figured whatever money the Warriors could offer would be low, so he'd test the open market. I'm sure he appreciates this opportunity that he's gotten with the Warriors, but i still assumed he'd make a business decision for himself. But if its a fair deal and he's good with it.. i like the extension.

I like his confidence overall.. he'll shoot the three, or at times, he'll pump fake and step in for a midrange. he seems to knock those down regularly. I was liking McCaw's assertiveness since he came back from the initial injury, so i still have hopes for him. I like Casspi as a player, he's smart, can pass, can score a little, but he needed to shoot and be reliable. On top of that, his injury isn't helping. I'd rather let Nick Young go, but i don't see it happening, plus i think Nick is a better fit as far as team chemistry goes.

He wouldn't be eligible for the postseason without signing cause he's on a 2 way deal.

There was already talk about signing him for the year and likely dropping Casspi. I dont think a multiyear deal is required for him to be eligible is it?

Nah, I just assume those were the terms the Warriors presented to him now that they like the fit.
