Son it's an adult show that takes place in Harlem. Its used way less on this show than it is in actual Harlem.

I get what you’re saying breh I just disagree. It’s about her character development and also dropping the front. Mariah’s whole thing was she was better than everyone; she was above it all. But she was lying to herself. She wanted to believe she wasn’t like the rest of her family but she’s just as foul as they are if not worse. So her going from one place to another, as you pointed out, makes complete sense for her character arc.
