"This is Hip Hop and them nikkas should know what time it is"

Pretty much sums up what Nas and Jay thought of each other at a certain period. Nas has said during the beef that he always looked at Jay as Biggie's little homie and when Biggie died and Jay tried to claim king he slept on him. But there was always a level of competition. From Jay's standpoint, he was a fan of Nas, just like most New York MC's were at the time period, as a "rappers rapper". He felt slighted by Nas not showing up to the Reasonable Doubt sessions or the Dead Presidents video, but Nas was particularly aloof during those times, if you weren't from QB and you weren't Wu-Tang then Nas didn't really fukk with you.

A misconception if the beef is that Jay went after Carmen specifically because he was obsessed with Nas, this is false. He pursued Carmen BEFORE he knew she was Nas's woman (according to her) and after he found out, he simply didn't care. He was still a fan of Nas and used to ask her "weird" questions but he didn't get with her with the objective of using her against Nas, they had an on-off again affair that lasted several years until "Is That Yo Chick" dropped.

As for them being friends now. They put all the beef and bullshyt behind them and like grown ass men decided that they were better as allies than enemies. You could tell both of them had become tired of the battle being such a big portion of their post 2000 careers. Plus their both the two last MC's standing amongst the mainstream from that 93-97 golden age of Hip Hop. Their the only two who can stand in a room and look at each other and see someone who went through 3-4 generations of the genre and remained relevant, you HAVE to respect that about each other. Before Drake, J.Cole, Kendrick, Krit, Luda, Game, Jay Electronica, Cam'ron, Lil Wayne, 50, Ja Rule, DMX, Eminem, etc. There was Illmatic and Reasonable Doubt.

Good post!

My favorite part is that Nas f*cked OG well known drug dealer up and put him in the hospital. Most of people would be like :whoa: and won't stand up for his wife and be like "I don't want mess with this guy, he's well know drug dealer" but Nas just don't give a f*ck and you don't disrespect his woman like that.

"Camels are not overly emotional. They like to live and let live. They are optimistic and believe that people are inherently good and kind and fair. Some people think that Camels are naive, and in some ways they are, but they are also very resilient and can bounce back from bad situations with ease and grace. This is a sign that lives for new experiences and would rather risk looking like a sucker every once in a while than risk missing out on an adventure. Besides, if things take a turn for the worse, Camels know that they can handle any situation they find themselves in. Camels make excellent friends. Whether you spend a little bit of time with them or a lot, you’ll always enjoy their company and it doesn’t hurt to know that they are always there when you really need them. "

another classic post from the god

At the end of the day Hov has been a fan of Nas for a minute. The same can be said of most NY rappers as you said. In fact I always thought part of Hov's Takeover argument about Nas only having one good album was fake as fukk. You can't tell me Hov doesn't like It Was Written. I can understand anyone not fukking with I Am and especially Nastradamus but IWW? Nah. I could see a conscious type dude not liking IWW but a mafioso rapper like Hov would eat that shyt up.

talks about how her uncle used to beat her and how when Nas found out he went with Horse and beat the **** out of the dude

......

also Carmen wasn’t into Nas until he started gettin noteriety, like when Halftime and Zebrahead dropped, she was running with this big time drug dealer dude and he got locked up and she was facing charges and she went to Nas (he was known as being the smartest dude in the projects) he and helped her beat the charges

And then she repaid this ni66a by sleeping with his arch-rival? Trifling Ass Bytch! :scust:

- Wrote that Nas would come home from touring with Suitcases and bags full of money. Nas tried to take care of everybody from the hood, buying them chains and jewelry and she felt he was still too much involved in street life.
:francis: He must've been young than.
