You are right, they could have did a lot more especially in 2009. We could have spent more on infrastructure and gotten immigration reform done without the GOP.

It shows you there's no political cost to obstruction and you need to use the rules to your benefit esp when you had nearly 60 votes in the Senate

I understand the need for healthcare reform and the Dems being divided. But man they could have done more

I hope people are paying attention here.
Trump is basically firing anyone who opposes his decisions and trying to dismantle any people that may stop him so there is little opposition or resistance.
Purposely keeping people in the IC (intelligence community) out of his affairs.
Demoting key figureheads and positions and promoting people close to his ideologues as replacements and giving them more power than others.

This is just the beginning.

BTW, those state department senior advisors that supposedly resigned due to Trump last week...they were actually fired.

Honestly in retrospect though, I think Obama was projecting the Majority in congress and the senate to be permanent, so he was trying to ease in reforms. My reasoning for this is how he did so much as soon as Trump got elected. I think he thought that even a future Democratic President could expand on his programs and cement his legacy.
