I think the issue is getting mixed though.
Typically this would lead to a legal or publicly condoned lynching in the past.
That isn't the case, a rational police force actually checked her claims, investigated, found her claims lacking and disregarded her claim. So this situation actually bucked historical precedent in the US.
The weird part is the employer, NFL stepping into the mix, and confirming the systematic racism is still prevalent, but it shifts from a society or legal issue, to an employer issue with a terrible cpllectively bargained contract. So there is some partial conflation of two seperate issues here, being combined with historical racism and white supremacy.
