Randall Emmett and George Furla are huge producers that do major movies. The problem is all the behind the scenes drama. There's a lot of cooks in the kitchen on this one. That's what made Fuqua and Singleton leave. And the music producer is NOT directing the film. he's producing it. Carl Franklin is directing the film. He has an okay film resume, he did Devil in the Blue Dress with Denzel. His success as of late has been as a TV director directing episodes of House of Cards and other shows.
I'm not compltely sold on Franklin, this might be too big for him. But, we'll see. I'm glad they at least have a black director. If the Hughes brothers didn't have all that history with Pac, they'd be perfect for this. But no way they would touch this. Wish Fuqua would come back.
